Are you planning to change your room upgrades in Blue Prince? Normally, the perks that you select are set in stone. They ought to be permanent for the rest of your playthrough, at least until you discover a workaround.
How to change room upgrades in Blue Prince – Room upgrade reroll guide
The mechanic to change or reroll room upgrades was first made known to us by Discord user Lokyndra. It involves acquiring expensive items from the Showroom and then exchanging them via the Trading Post.
Make sure you obtain all Upgrade Disks first
Before you decide to change room upgrades in Blue Prince, you might want to obtain all Upgrade Disks first:
- There are 16 Upgrade Disks in the game. When placed inside a terminal, each disk selects a room at random so you can choose a perk/effect.
- The disk that you get from the Trading Post, when placed in a terminal, selects from a pool of upgraded rooms.
- If you’re lucky, it might pick a room with a perk that you’d like to reroll.
Which items do you need from the Showroom?
The most expensive items in the game can be found in the Showroom, which is a shop-type/yellow-color room. Ideally, you’ll want to buy either the Emerald Bracelet (costs 60 gold) or Master Key (costs 80 gold).
Note: If you’re unable to draft a Trading Post outside, try to draft a Coat Check inside the mansion. It lets you store one of your valuable items so you can retrieve it for a future run.

How to get Upgrade Disks from the Trading Post?
The Trading Post is one of the outer room options. It allows you to exchange various items for other goodies. In some cases, there’s a chance that your Emerald Bracelet and/or Master Key can be traded for an Upgrade Disk.
Once you have your Upgrade Disk from the Trading Post, you should be able to change room upgrades in Blue Prince. Simply bring it to any terminal and keep your fingers crossed that it selects a room that you want to reroll.

Why should you reroll your room upgrades?
Of course, you might be asking yourself why you should alter your room upgrades in the first place. Well, there are several reasons:
- You want to pick the optimal upgrade – A good example of this is the Electric Eel Aquarium, which acts akin to a pre-activated Boiler Room.
- You no longer have a use for a certain upgrade – If you’re planning to get the Billiards/Darts trophy, then you’re better off with the Speakeasy perk early on since it reverts all operations to simple addition. However, because the Break Room upgrade grants a free Keycard if you end the day inside the room, it might be more viable in future runs.
- You want to “cheese” resources – If you want to swap to the Nurse’s Station boon for the Nursery, you can use an exploit that nets you lots of gold and stars.
All in all, it’s really up to you if you want to make alterations to your rooms’ perks. This way, you could fine-tune your manor areas for that perfect run.
