Cyberpunk 2077 Is Getting Its Own Arcade Game

Near the end of 2024, CD Projekt Red shifted away from Cyberpunk 2077 updates as the developer focused on putting The Witcher 4 into full production. There will be a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, but it’s years away at the earliest. If players want to reenter the Cyberpunk universe in the meantime, they’ll have to find an entertainment location that has the Cyberpunk 2077 Turf Wars arcade game.

CD Projekt Red didn’t develop this elaborate Cyberpunk 2077 shooting game, but it did endorse Turf Wars developer LAI Games during the creation of its “next-gen futuristic tactile shooter.” The trailer for the arcade cabinet below doesn’t share much gameplay footage of Turf Wars, but it does show off the gun controllers and a shooting gallery. It also reveals that Turf Wars has three game modes: story mode, co-op/versus mode, and sniper mode.

Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of arcades left in the US, so venues like Dave & Buster’s and Chuck E. Cheese or movie theaters with games may be the only viable domestic locations for an arcade cabinet of this size. It’s also an experience that’s unlikely to be adapted for consoles.

Late last year, The Witcher 4 director Sebastian Kalemba shared his belief that CD Project Red had learned its lesson from Cyberpunk 2077’s disastrous launch. The Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is already in early development, and there are live-action and anime adaptations planned for the future of the franchise.
